Dear Fellow Scouters:

We changed everything to increase participation, so we hope this year awards will be as exciting as last year. If you missed it it was your own fault, all I can say is WOW to Chris our former DE!  This year's location is the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant on the south side of the airport along 836. Please get active.  Our scouts need to see a us get involved so they follow our lead. Times are tough, but we only have one lifetime to make a difference, let’s show a bright future. Plan ahead please for this event, bad economic times will not stop us. Unfortunately, though, we cannot accommodate walk-ups that evening. You must register in advance. I know all our volunteers care, so get with the program and support this event.  We will be coming up with a theme soon, maybe Disco and this old guy can show you some moves if we have anyone dancing.

Tequesta’s Annual Recognition Dinner is practically around the corner. District calendar has a date of Friday, May 6, 2011. Let us show some spirit and participate; we need to lead by example in order to have great Eagle Scouts to lead our future. This is an opportunity to thank the adults in our Troops and Packs that make this all happen.

The Annual Recognition Dinner venue is the time that we recognize our volunteer leaders who have been nominated, by their fellow Scouter, for the various Tequesta District awards.

As the National Council has established it, the District Advancement & Recognition Committee is responsible for the adult recognition awards at the district level, making sure that the guidelines are clearly established and that all adult volunteers, who wish to nominate other fellow adult scouts, this is your opportunity.

Please make it a point to nominate the volunteers in your Pack, Troop, Crew or District that you feel qualify and should be recognized for their one hour a week. If you do not know if the person qualifies for some of requirements, just submit your nomination and let the Committee make the decision based on all volunteers nominated. The Committees want to hear from you, and will forward their decision for ratification. This is a once a year opportunity to show just how much we appreciate all volunteers efforts and they do not go un-noticed.

The Chairperson of the District Advancement & Recognition Committee, Jorge L. Montes, e-mail: <J4montes@bellsouth.net> phone 305-559-2140 or cell 305 992-2140 has appointed various sub-committees for the different awards (last years award winners will Chair & monitor and may help out as in the past this years to be winners, others awards requiring strict requirements to be met will be Chaired by the key three) as follows:
